ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in the Greater Toronto Area after my parents immigrated from the Caribbean in the late 70's. Currently I call Durham Region home.
Armed with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and a major in Information Technology I started my career in 2005 as a Business Systems Analyst. In this role I transformed cluttered business requirements into streamlined processes using technology and automation.
When my career pivoted in 2012, I took on the Commercial Real Estate industry by using my gifts of management, organization, and process improvement. My experience in managing a diverse campus of buildings to running a province-wide planning program has sharpened my eye for finding efficiencies and opportunities where others see obstacles.
I am a mother and a wife who believes everyone can live in a space that is pleasing to the senses and reflects the heart of those who live there. Creating an environment of elegance, form and function by decluttering, categorizing and organizing is why I created Form and Function by Kira. I am excited to streamline your lifestyle and create a space customized for how you use it.
I sincerely believe form is found when space is made functional.
Growing up in Markham, my summers were full of carefree freedom. I can still feel the warmth of the pavement as I biked through the neighbourhood, braids flying behind me, racing to the community centre for swim time. We’d bounce between friends’ homes like we owned the block—sampling popsicles like we were on a wine tour, laughing in damp hair and flip-flops on our feet.
Now, life looks different. There are more schedules, more stuff, and a lot more square footage to manage. But the essence of summer—that joyful, easy energy—is something I want to protect for my clients and their families.
And here’s the truth: your home either supports that ease, or it gets in the way.
So let’s talk about how to make your home serve you this summer. These are systems I put in place for my own clients—women like you who are used to high-touch support and care deeply about how their home feels, functions, and flows.
You know that moment when your kids burst in from camp or soccer practice, dropping shoes, snacks, towels, and mystery items all over the place? Your mudroom deserves to be more than a dumping ground—it can be a beautifully functional space that works just as hard as you do.
Give each family member a labeled basket or wall hook for sunglasses, water bottles, and summer accessories.
Use a minimalist shoe tray or rack that looks elegant and can handle wet flip-flops or muddy cleats.
Set up a slim drawer or countertop tray with grab-and-go items: sunscreen, bug spray, hair ties, after-bite. No more hunting.
When your entry is set up to anticipate your day, everything feels easier. You can come and go without a second thought—and that’s the real luxury.
Your outdoor space should feel like a personal retreat—not a war zone of towels, toys, and forgotten juice boxes. When your backyard is organized with intention, entertaining (even casually) becomes effortless.
A rolling bar cart with SPF, candles, and shatterproof drinkware makes transitions between day and evening seamless.
Keep a lidded bench near the patio for quick-grab towels, backup swimwear, or throw blankets for cool nights.
Use UV-resistant bins for storing outdoor toys or gardening tools without ruining your aesthetic.
The invisible workload of summer laundry is real. Between damp pool towels, grass-stained shorts, and outfit changes before dinner plans, it’s nonstop. This system is a sanity-saver—especially if you have staff supporting your household.
Place divided hampers in your mudroom or laundry area, one per family member or by category (e.g. swimwear vs. sportswear).
Set up a “quick-wash bin” for high-frequency items like suits or lightweight tanks.
Stock essentials like mesh laundry bags, stain solutions, and your steamer where staff can find them without asking.
As a mom, I know the goal isn’t just to have a tidy home—it’s to have a peaceful one. When your spaces are working for you instead of against you, the mental load lightens. That’s what true luxury is.
Fewer questions from the kids.
Fewer things for you to remember.
More clarity, more time, more presence.
Professional organizing is not about perfection. It’s about protecting your energy so you can spend your summer in the ways that matter most—hosting friends, reading on the patio, or sipping something cold while your kids live out their own popsicle-fuelled memories.
If your summer routines are starting to wear down your home—or your nerves—this is your sign to put supportive systems in place. I can help you build them.
Whether you’re in Durham, York Region, or elsewhere in the GTA, let’s make your home work beautifully for your lifestyle.
